Unicorn Skips Ltd often get asked similar questions regarding hiring a skip. We have decided to include a list of frequently asked questions to help answer any questions you may have. 1.How much does skip hire cost?

2.What items am I allowed to put inside my skip?
We accept hardcore, rubble, bricks, soil (which is not contaminated) and any domestic waste. This includes any food and its packaging. Our skips can be used for fixtures, furniture & furnishings. Also if you need to dispose of any non electrical fittings, all metals, any plastics and all woods can also be put into the skip.
Please note that ALL skips should not be filled past the level load.
3.What items am I not allowed to put in the skip?
Unfortunately Unicorn Skips are legally unable to remove / take away any electrical equipment. This also includes any fridges, freezers, Televisions or computer monitors. Also we are not allowed to receive any tyres, asbestos, solvents, gas bottles, clinical waste (this includes any medicine bottles, syringes and soiled dressings), any liquids (including any oils) and any chemicals.
Please note: Plasterboard will need to be placed into a separate skip.
4.Do skips require a permit?
Yes, you do require a permit for your skip if you would like to have it placed in a public area on a road. Unicorn Skips will help you obtain the correct permit required for skip hire, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
You can obtain a permit from your local council authority.
Please be aware: It is illegal to have a skip on the road or at a public property without firstly getting permission to do so.
5.What do I do once I have finished with my skip or need it to be removed or emptied?
Once you have finished with your skip, the quickest way to arrange for your skip to be emptied / collected is to simply give us a call on 01296 681 605.
